Return to Restricted Play

The LTA guidance has now been published. You can view it here. The committee met yesterday evening and we have produced a plan for reopening based on these guidelines. The principles are as follows:

  • We aim to restart play on Saturday 16th May.
  • A booking system is being implemented and each membership will be allowed to book up to three one-hour slots in a week. Marina will provide more information on this later.
  • Only members can utilise the tennis courts. No guests allowed. This includes members of your household that aren't members.
  • Please only come to the club if you have a confirmed court booking.
  • The coaching team has been allocated the block of three courts (1-3) and general play for members will be on the block of four courts (4-7).
  • Please leave gates ajar to avoid having to use the entry system. Access to the back two courts should be via the side gate next to the cricket pitch.
  • Coaching wil be limited to one-on-one. There will be no group coaching.
  • Between members of different households, play on the block of four courts will be limited to singles.
  • Doubles can be played amongst members of the same household.
  • Please only use 50mins of each booked hour to allow a buffering time between bookings.
  • The pavilion will be unavailable for use. There will be no toilets available at the club.
  • In order to restrict access to the club to players with booked courts only, we are keeping the gates closed so please park in the driveway or in adjacent roads. Barnet have lifted restrictions on single yellow lines and resident permit spaces.  [Double yellow still an offence.]
  • Please remember to bring your hand sanitiser and your own balls which should be marked. Each person playing singles should only handle their own balls.
  • Please don't hang around after play. And I'm sure you don't need reminding of the general social distancing guidelines.
