Brondesbury Sports Day

Dear All,

You may be aware that one of our tennis members, Robin Francis, took his own life earlier this summer. He had been suffering from depression for some time. With the kind permission of Robin's family, we have decided to remember him in a positive way by raising money for The Samaritans, a charitable organisation that helps those who are in a state of emotional turmoil and feel they have reached the end of the road.

So, please attend our inaugural Sports Day on Sunday 10th September at 2pm, where a number of events will be taking place to raise awareness and money:

• Cake Sale - why not bake a cake and sell a slice or two to the other participants.

• Racket Sale - if you have any spare tennis rackets lying around at home, bring them along and price them at £5, £10 or £20 depending on condition. All proceeds to the charity.

• Sports Day entry will be £5 per junior, £10 per adult and £20 for a family.

• The bar will be open all day (including the evening Karaoke competition) and all profits will go to The Samaritans.

So ... why not come along and run, jump, throw, picnic, eat cake, buy a racket, sing a song or two and remember Robin.

The full programme of events, including the summer tournament medal ceremony and team awards, will be posted next week.

Thank you for your support in this venture,

Matt.
