Michael Wolkind QC

Michael will be giving the next club talk on Sunday, May 12, at 6pm. He will be discussing his experiemces at the criminal bar. Here is what he says about himself:

“After a year as the World's worst reporter (£17 per week at the Ham & High, I was worth £1.70) I began studying Law in 1973. I had no preferences but, after some jousting in the Family Courts, including against a Ms Cherie Booth, I took up Crime. After 43 years only defending, the last 20 as a QC, it is most unlikely I will ever make my prosecution debut. That's the way I chose. For some years my practice was overwhelmingly murder cases and I could plot my way around London (turn left at the strangulation) but then I became fussy for cases that are genuinely interesting. I love people, which is just as well, considering those I meet. Acquittals are most welcome.  Innocence is a bonus.”
