Second Sunday Talk - Nov 11

A few weeks ago, Richard Abramson gave an excellent and well-attended talk entitled 'Vengeance in Venice', explaining his unusual take on Shakespeare's Merchant of Venice.

The talk series continues on Sunday, Nov 11, with a talk I will be giving. It's entitled 'Political stability depends on sentiment, not reason - the great debate between Edmund Burke and Thomas Paine over the French Revolution'. The bar will be open from 6pm and the talk will start promptly at 6:30pm. Please come along and encourage any friends or family to attend as well.

The talk series will continue in the new year with a talk by Sean Baine entitled ' Ireland from the Ice Age to Brexit – a short history'. It is scheduled for Sunday, Jan 20th.

I hope to see you at the club on Nov 11th.
