Juniors Rep

Rachel Bradshaw joined the tennis committee recently as a Juniors Rep - her two children have been very keen club members and participants in junior matches - and wishes to let you know  she is keen to hear from any parent of a junior member with any questions or points to raise. She can be contacted on [email protected].

Let There Be Lights

Last Sunday, Brondesbury tennis members came together for a celebration to mark the new floodlights on courts 1-3.

The afternoon started with a Parent & Child tournament, which was entered by 36 pairs. It was fantastic to see so many parents and children enjoying themselves on court. Congratulations to all who played and especially our finalists, listed below:

Red ball: Runners up- Regina & Felix. Winners- Laurence & Alexander.

Orange ball: Runners up- Chi & Harry. Winners- Andre & Alex.

Following on from this, Matt kicked off the ‘Lavarello Cup’ with a very competitive torch relay between Team Cricklewood and Team World. Team World got the first points on the board, however, Team Cricklewood raced ahead once the tie-breaks commenced. In a late surge, and with some help from their team captains, Team World were crowned victorious.

The drinks flowed, the crepe van was inundated, music played and even a couple of fireworks made for a brilliant event. Brondesbury's inclusive spirit was on full show with players of all ages and ability joining in the fun.

Special thanks to Matt and Marina for organising, with great help from Angus, Joe, Eliot, Alex and Finlay. Special mention must also go to Martin and Svetlana for all their work on the floodlights project.
