End of Season

Sat 5/9/9 Last Saturday night saw the end of season celebrations at the club. A good night saw an end to a season of rebuilding at the club, with a large number of young players representing all four league sides. The first and second teams often had an average age of in the low 20s and finished 7th and 4th in their leagues repectively, which sets a solid base for future years. The evening saw Robert Nelson presented with an award for reaching 300 first team league wickets, with the stumping of ex Middlesex all-rounder Paul Weekes by current Middlesex keeper John Simpson earlier in the season. Mike Wiltshire was also given a send off as he ends his year as second team overseas player to return to his native Auckland.
